Pershing County Arts Council Season tickets for the five 2003-2004 performances will be on sale through October 19, 2003. If you were a season ticket holder last year and want to subscribe again, please mail in the new 2003-04 form which will be sent to you. If you have not had tickets before and are interested in a subscription, please call 775-273-1614 and a form will be sent to you. Pershing County Arts Council sponsors The Reno Pops Orchestra Sunday — 10/19/03 Led by conductor Joyce Williams, the forty musicians of this acclaimed orchestra will present the works of Mozart and Prokofiev. The orchestra will also join with the Lovelock Community Singers in rousing renditions of Broadway favorites and patriotic songs. Steel Shooters Classes consist of Highest to the Lowest : Unlimited Class, Master Class, A Class, B Class and C Class. Students are allowed to shoot, as long as they are accompanied by their parent/parents. Pershing County Arts Council sponsors Tom Russell Friday — 11/14/03 Gifted folk/western songwriter Tom Russell will join with guitarist Andrew Hardin in a performance to remember. He has recorded with the likes of Ian Tyson, Joe Ely and Lucinda Williams. His new album, Modern Art features duets with Nancy Griffith. For a complete night out, make dinner and/or hotel reservations with Sturgeon's Ramada Inn, Casino and Restaurant at (775) 273-2971. Sturgeon's is offering a special prime rib dinner for those attending the concert at 5:00 p.m. for $14.00 each. Sturgeon's is also offering a special room rate for those attending the performance. Friends of the Library Christmas Craft Fair Saturday — 12/6/03 Start Time: 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Location: Pershing County Community Center, 820 6th St. Contact: Jeanne Munk at (775) 273-2216 The Annual Parade of Lights Saturday — 12/6/03 The annual Parade of Lights features a variety of floats and vehicles that are decorated with lights. The parade will proceed down Cornell Ave. It will cross the tracks by the 4-H building, then turn left on Amhurst to head back toward Main Street. It will turn onto Main and proceed to the court house for the lighting of the tree by Santa. After the tree has been lit, the parade will proceed down Central Ave. to 14th St. No pre-parade sign up is required. Build a float and come and join us for the Parade of Lights. The parade is sponsored by: Pershing County Chamber of Commerce, the City of Lovelock, and Gokey Farms (who is also the Chair of the event). Line-Up Time: 4:45 p.m. Start Time: 5:00 p.m. - after the Friends of the Library Community Christmas Fair Location: Line-up and parade to start at the vacant lot behind the Crow's Nest and across Cornell Ave. from Sturgeon's. St. John the Baptist Catholic Church Wednesday — 12/24/03 Christmas Vigil Mass and a Mass at midnight. Carols will be sung before the midnight Mass. Confessions will be at the regular time, namely 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, December 20.
