Pershing County 4-H Leaders Council Meeting
Thursday — 4/3/03
A meeting of the 4-H Leaders Council will be held, followed by a 4-H Building Board Meeting, then the Livestock Leaders Meeting.

Steel Pistol Shoot 2003
Saturday and Sunday — 4/19 & 4/20/03
The Pershing County Shooters Association Steel Pistol Shoot 2003 is the second in this season's series of competitive shoots. Steel Shooters Classes consist of Highest to the Lowest : Unlimited Class, Master Class, A Class, B Class and C Class. Students are allowed to shoot, as long as they are accompanied by their parent/parents.

Eagles Annual Easter Egg Hunt
Sunday — 4/20/03
Lovelock's annual Easter egg hunt is sponsored and worked by the Eagles club members. The hunt is for children ages 0-9. There are prize eggs in 3 different age groups: 1-3 year olds, 4-6 year olds and 7-9 year olds. The Eagles strongly prefer that the children be allowed to hunt for the eggs unassisted by older siblings, friends or relatives - the extra people on the field make it very difficult for the other little ones to gather eggs.

Secretary's Day Luncheon
Wednesday — 4/23/03
This luncheon sponsored by the Lovelock/Pershing County Chamber of Commerce begins at 12:00 noon. It features an on-going raffle throughout the luncheon, prizes that are awarded were donated by local businesses, and live entertainment. Please R.S.V.P.

Pershing County Arts Council sponsors Goldilock's Adventure
Saturday — 4/26/03
A program for the whole family!! Goldilock's Adventure is a storybook ballet danced to contemporary jazz. Incorporating the beautiful music of Dvorak and a lush, enchanted set design, the Brigham Young University Theatre Ballet presents a magical performance of an original work. Ticket prices are: Adults: $10.00; seniors and students: $6.00.

Pershing County 4-H/FFA Show & Sale
Sunday — 4/27/03
28 4-H and FFA members will be showing the livestock animals they have raised. There are breeding projects in sheep, swine and goats. The sale will include 13 sheep, 8 swine, 4 goats and 3 beef. The public is encouraged to attend. Concession stand available.

2nd Annual Wine Tasting
Thursday — 5/1/03
Many new varieties of wine will be presented for tasting. Complimentary cheese and chocolate are to be served. Tickets are required for admittance, the cost of the tickets are $20.00 each. Bottles of the featured wines will be available for purchase. Part of the proceeds are to benefit the Girls Traveling Softball Team.

For Kid's Sake! (A Children's Fair)

Parent Education And Child Enrichment Project (PEACE Project) is hosting a children's fair at the PEACE Project Family to Family Connection center at 1295 Elmhurst Ave. Fun and information for families with children age prenatal to five. There will be free gifts, prenatal information for expectant parents, lactation counselors to answer your breastfeeding questions, breast pump rental (sliding scale available), infant massage and baby signing demonstrations, free car seat checkpoint, limited car seats available, toddler obstacle course and community services and resources data.

Lovelock Street Fever Car Club presents the Summer Show and Shine. This event is held come rain or shine. Games, crafts, vendors, 50/50 drawing, raffles galore, car games, motorcycle games! Participant judging — over 100 awards! 1st and 2nd place awards in all classes and games. Live music Saturday night (band to be announced). Show to benefit the youth of Pershing County!

12th annual National Wild Horse and Burro Show

Wander to the Winnemucca Events Center to share a Wild West experience. Trained wild horses and burros will compete each day at 8:00 am in the 12th annual National Wild Horse and Burro Show. Qualified adopters can bid on Sunday at 1:00 pm to take home a wild horse gathered from northern Nevada rangelands. This is the first time the show has been in Winnemucca and the animals have been especially selected for the Events Center program. There will be 12 mares, 12 studs and 16-18 colts to choose from. For further information please call 775-623-1500 (BLM Winnemucca Field Office) or visit www.wild-horse.org. In the next several weeks, look for newspaper articles about adopters and their horses.

18th Annual Ducks Unlimited Dinner and Auction
Saturday — 6/28
Seating is limited! Only 225 tickets to this event will be available. If you buy your Dinner tickets before June 16th you will automatically be entered in the Early Bird Raffle. Prior to June 16th - $100.00 worth of Early Bird Raffle tickets may be purchased for $70.00! This ticket purchase will automatically enter you in all 3 raffles. The Single dinner ticket cost is $50.00 (this price includes a one year membership to Ducks Unlimited); the Couple's dinner ticket costs $70.00 and also includes a one year membership; the Greenwing dinner ticket is available for those under 16 years of age and also includes a one year membership.
