OOOP'S

This is the section where the chukar hunting is really the best. The true stories of chukar hunting come to life. I have many but, would like to hear from you who reads my web page, your true to like funny stories. As usual you'll be credited with them if I put them on my web page. Just include your real name or fictious one and where or close to where you reside and it will all be included. Remember we only speak the facts. My E-MAIL address will be at the end of my first of MANY OOOOPs and will be found for you by my dog pointing my E-mail address in the bushes. ENJOY!

FIRST POINT

It was a dark, gloomy day in the month of October. It was a few weeks into the hunting season and Sage and I had been out several times. Sage is my german shorthair pointer and at this particular time this was her first year of hunting. She was 5 months old and as of that morning hadn't made a point yet. So, I was anixously hoping it would come soon, you know that's why they call them pointers. We were walking the east side of the mountain and Sage was about 50 yards ahead of me and was dilly dalling around this one spot. When I got almost next to her, she locked up on the prettiest point one could imagine. It was truly a pretty sight because she wasn't any bigger than a jackrabbit at 5 months. Of course, I had no camera for her first point. I slowly walked up to the bush she was pointing at with my 4-10 O/U ready to shoot. I looked into her eyes and saw that they were honed in right on that bush in front of her. This was the moment I had waited for, it was to bad there was no one there to video this special moment. So, up to the bush I went-gun ready-slammed my #12 size boot into the bush expecting the bird to go flying out for that picture perfect shot. OH NO, something went wrong, the bird didn't fly out and away from me; but, the darn thing flew right at me. Being only about 5 feet from it, I stepped back in surprise. Stepping back to keep from getting hit I, of course, stepped back right into another bush which in turn knocked me off balance and started my decent towards the ground. As I fell backwards it seemed it took forever before I hit the ground and dust spewed up all around me. Not keepin a chukar hunter down, like a flash I proceeded to raise my body up from embarrassment to make that picture perfect shot only to realize after I'd squeezed the trigger, expecting a bang and then "fetch the bird Sage", did I realize that I'd forgotten to LOAD theGUN.OOOP's!!

Questions And Answers

Got me an e-mail from Jim Bob from Colorado.

Hey polishchkrhntr: Red your web page and got really interested in this chukar hunting. I don't make very much money but, knot one to scimp when it comes to hunting. I opted for the whole ball of wax, only the best and shot it on my visa card. Came home all EXCITED to tell the wife (because we do everything together), that we were ready for the chukar hunting. She EXPLODED when I told her and gave me a choice of, take it all back OR she's GONE!! I love her very much, but don't know what to do. HELP, I LOVE TO HUNT!!!
    (A) Congradulations on getting the real good stuff and I'm pretty sure you'll enjoy it emensely when out hunting. Heck, you'll have so much fun hunting you'll get over her in no time. GOOD HUNTING!

LOST AND FOUND

LOST- wife ran off with salesman and took my hunting dog and my best shotgun. REWARD OFFERED for dog and shotgun returned before hunting season. PLEASE DO NOT return wife.
FOUND- about 1 1/2 year old german shorthair pointer. Has a great point and retrieves like crazy. A real beautiful, well groomed dog with mostly white and some brown markings. One particular marking looks alot like a chukar body and has long tail with 3 brown circles about an inch apart on it. Dogs ID collar says her name is Roller and it belongs to a Johnny Smith. If this is your dog and you can identify her without a shadow of a doubt, I do believe I have your hunting dog.
More to come in the near future with a whole lot more about the funny aspects of chukar hunting. Keep checking back because I'll be adding more and more to the site. One must remember I are Polish and it takes a little while to write this stuff and for right now my one finger I use for typing is raw from this, I have already done. So, until I hear from somebody out there or, when I add to the page this concludes for now MY HUMOROUS LOOK AT CHUKAR HUNTING!!!

I'd like to thank LITTLE CREEK GRAPHICS for her generousity in letting me have a little hunting space on her web site.
