A Note from our BG Secretary

464th BG Reunion:
Tucson, Arizona - Thursday 25 Through Monday 29 September 2008

Reunion data packets have been sent via first class mail to insure reaching all members of the 464th Bomb Group and to check on the correctness of the addresses in the 2006 464th Roster. A new roster will not be published for the 2008 Reunion. (There is a message from BG President, more 464th BG Reunion information and a registration form on our site, here.)
This may well be our last formal reunion. The first reunion was held in August '55 by the 778th Squadron in Chicago, Illinois, with gatherings by the squadron members in '56, '58, '60, '62, '64 and '66. In 1968 all squadrons joined together at Erie, Pennsylvania and Group reunions were held every two years thereafter.
Over the past four decades attendance has declined — in Dallas less than 100 original vets were in attendance. Hopefully there will be more than that at this gathering in Tucson. If at all possible, try to be there for this one last get-together.
If the Good Lord and funds permit, I will attempt to continue publishing the 464th newsletter. This will entail your response in keeping the address list up-to-date and contributing now and then to the 464th treasury. As I've mentioned before, the cost of an edition approaches $1,500 which includes printing, mailing (3rd Class), mailing permit, etc. Additional filler material for the letter is also your responsibility. The 16 pages can contain a large amount of data of interest to all members. So keep it coming and the 464th Group will continue to be an active entity. Thank you for your help.
      Stay well.
      Tony Schneider (776)
      464th BG Sect'y/Treas.
